ENGINEERING / COMPLETED / JUNE TO JULY 2026

A new home for
1.1 TB of footage.

I moved a marketing team’s media library from a Frame.io V4 share link into a separate Frame.io account.

ENGINEERING / PROJECT STUDY
THE WORK, IN DETAIL

The problem

The team needed 496 assets moved with their folder structure intact. Frame.io V4 had no documented API for this workflow.

What I built

I mapped the GraphQL requests used by the browser and built an asynchronous Python migrator with asyncio and aiohttp. The transfer streamed S3 multipart uploads so a 2 GB server did not need to hold a whole video in memory.

How it resumed

The migrator saved state after every file. An interrupted run could continue from that state. I ran the transfer on DigitalOcean and then Oracle Cloud.

The result

All 496 assets reached the destination account with the structure of all 78 folders intact. The completed transfer covered 1.1 TB.
